About Us

Restoration Fabrics & Trims is an outgrowth of our personal and professional interest in historical restoration and adaptation.

Personally, we are restoring a Queen Anne  Victorian. Professionally, we specialize in helping others create livable yet historically sensitive rooms that are appropriate to both the style and period of the home as well as the owners’ lifestyles. Although we currently live in an 1880 house, we work with a range of styles from the 1700s through the 1950s.

Not only do we pride ourselves on our outstanding customer service, our stellar reputation as interior decorators and as one of eBay's top-rated premier power-sellers, we live in a historic home still undergoing major restoration. As many owners of old houses (affectionately aka ''money pits'') discover, the painstaking work of historically sensitive renovation and restoration is made even slower by the search for and high costs of quality materials.

We have been able to find many resources for original and reproduction building materials, hardware, wallpaper and fixtures - but there was no one offering a variety of period-appropriate damasks, brocades, embroideries, toiles, tapestries, velvets, silks, chintzes, and trims for upholstery, portieres, bedding, draperies, lampshades, and the like. And the cost of what we did find was often prohibitive.

Fortunately, we had access to decorator showrooms but it was time consuming and, even at wholesale prices, budget-breaking to find appropriate choices for our clients' homes (ranging from 1700s saltboxes to 1950-60s tract houses) as well as for our own.

Looking for an alternative, we began building an international network of the finest designers, fabric mills, suppliers and trade showrooms. We collected thousands of first quality over-runs, sale fabrics and trims, bolt ends, decorator remnants, discontinued yardage, and new vintage goods so we could create the perfect exquisitely appointed, detailed interiors that old homes (and their owner-caretakers) demand.

Through word of mouth and internet, the demand for our services (and our fabric collection) grew. We decided to try listing some of our finds on eBay and, thanks to like-minded spirits and fellow fabric addicts, Restoration Fabrics & Trims is now a world-wide resource with multiple sales outlets.

From Our Customers...

Good morning Chazz! Well, this is it...I've become completely delirious looking over your fabric selections. I have to stop before they come to take me away...and I'm only half joking! Seriously, you've provided me with fabrics that I needed for five different for a client and four for myself…Thank You so much for making these fabrics available on the internet!

Dear Chazz,
I just wanted to let you know that I got a call from my upholsterer who wanted to know where I got the beautiful lavender Jacobean fabric as it was the finest he had worked with. Of course I told him about your site!! If it wasn't for the fact that you take the time to include the Color Chart numbers I would never have known how perfect the colors were for my room and, indeed, when it arrived it proved to be exactly what I needed. Thank you so much.
Best regards,

The fabric arrived today and I am really thrilled with it thank you! I ordered one for my mum and she thought it was even better in person.  So a big thank you for a great transaction, regards from Australia,

I received my order today – the fabrics are just gorgeous and I can’t thank you enough. Your postage rate was much less than others as well!
Thanks again.

Dear Chazz & Company-
I have been doing business with you since you started selling on eBay and must have ordered hundreds of yards of fabrics and trimmings over the years. Not only are your prices great – your service is outstanding. Your yardage guides are extremely useful too.
I really appreciate your eye for colors and mixing fabrics, which you do much better than I ever could. Your advice has always been on target. Even though we are in different states, the great communication makes every transaction smooth and problem-free. Your shipping is lightening fast and I appreciate that you do not inflate shipping charges or pad them with handling fees.

I have a beautiful home (and some money left over in my decorating budget) thanks to your assistance and great taste!  It is truly a pleasure to do business with you.

I am thrilled! What wonderful fabric! Now I have enough of "projects" for the upcoming winter season.
Just wanted to let you know how happy I am with your products and your service. Keep up the good work!
I will be busy with this purchase for a while, but I'll be back for more asap!

I cannot begin to tell you how beautiful this fabric is!
thank you, you are wonderful! If I could sum up your site, fabrics, and service in one word it would be AWESOME.

Hi Chazz
I want you to know that this fabric is absolutely phenomenal!!!  I couldn't believe my eyes.  And thanks, also, for the immediate shipment.  I am so thrilled.  It is SO much better than anything I had in mind.

Ciao Chazz,
The fabric has arrived in Italy!!!!
It is really wonderful and I'm very excited to see it on my chairs.
You really did it well: over all the description, the packaging, the shipping I'm really happy.
Everything I've seen on your site is perfect!
It's a pity that I do not have other projects right now, where I could use more you wonderful fabrics... But, never say never, who knows....>
Thanks again and greetings to New York!

Greetings from Ireland! I have succumbed to temptation and bought this fabulous silk velvet… it strikes me as the sort of fabric that might have upholstered a throne on which a Borgia cardinal could have sat in the 15th century.......Very sumptuous indeed!
